International Action:
"Women of Europe to women of Russia"
Organizers: Clubs BPW of Moscow and St-Petersburg

   Russia is a country of limitless possibilities. But an activity of BPW is still new here. To help women to find thein place in the society, to support their business and develop creative abilities are the main task of rissian Clubs. But we are beginners with little experience.
   The Club BPW in Moscow which was formed three years ago, are working on three programs supporting feminine initiatives in the field of culture. One of the acts of the club is organization of exhibition of children drawings, organization of concerts of choir of young women and youth symphony orchestra. The Club helped in the organization of a school of further aducation for girls.
   The Club in St-Petersburg was formed 7 years ago and all this time it has supported talented youth, organized exhibitions of women-artists of St-Petersburg and Poland, it deals with a problem of osteoporose.
   These Clubs work in main centres of Russia. To attract more women from province the Clubs BPW of Moscow and St-Petersburg propose to organize an international action " Women of Europe to women of Russia", in which women of Club BPW in European countries could share their experience with the experience of women from russian cities this action is planned to be held on board the ship. Visit to 3 or 4 cities of a middle of Russia is planned during the action.

Purpose and tasks

Purpose - establishment of contacts between European Clubs BPW and Clubs of Russia, help in organization of new Clubs.

Tasks:

• exchange of experience in work of European Club BPW;
• carrying out of a seminar "Movement BPW and increase of professional activity of women";
• performance before the representavies of women organization in visited cities;
• carrying out of a round table "Woman in a business and politics";
• meetings with women working in business.

Dates and contests of the project

Dates of the project:   september 2000 - june 2001

Stage 1 - preparatory (september - december 2000)
Making up of the program, selection of cities - participants from Russia, reception of applications from European Clubs wishing to take part inthe action are held.

Stage 2 - organization stage (january - may 2001)
Search of financing, concordance of the program with cities - participants, official registration of documents for those who come abroad, lease of a ship, preparation of cultural program.

Stage 3 - carrying out of an action (june 2001)
Realization of an agreed program, carrying meeting with reprisentatives of feminine organizations and with the women working in business, cultural program during the cruise.

Stage 4 - analysis of the results of the action
Treatment of the results of the action in mass media, placing of information on the site BPW in Internet.

We propose you to take part in this international action helping russian women to become the participants enjoying full rights of the movements of the Clubs BPW.
