First International Pleinair for women-painters

   Moscow and St. Petersburg clubs BPW, association of the women-painters "IRIDA" invite you to take part in First International Pleinair of women-painters. Pleinair is planned to be in Suzdal from 23.08 to 01.09.2001.
   Suzdal (200 km from Moscow) is a unique centre of ancient Russian architecture. It was in this city that history of Moscow began 1000 years ago. Architectural monuments of Suzdal are unique. An ancient layout of the city still remain the same. The domes of Suzdal's churches and monasteries atract tourists from all over the world.
   A great number of famous painters came here in search of inspiration.
   We invite you to go into a very rich history of Russia and imprint its beauty on your paintings

Purposes and tasks

Purpose - to maintain creative contacts with women-painters in different countries.

Tasks:
  • acquaintance with of ancient Russian culture culture;
  • acquaintance with Russian folk crafts and arts-;
  • search of new forms of creative representation of reality;
  • exchange of experience between women-painters;
  • support of creative activity of women-painters in different countries;
  • to assist the Russian women - painters to take part in the international pleinair.

Terms of Participation

  1. Professional artists as well as amateur artists can take part in the pleinair.

  2. Artists can use their own materials or they can order needed materials beforehand from the organisers of the pleinair.

  3. Applications for participation should be sent (mail or fax) before April 1, 2001.

  4. Registration fee is 170 $. It should be paid by May 1, 2001.

  5. Participants are expected to leave one of the pictures done during the plainer to be used at discretion of organisers.

  6. After the pleinair it is planned to organise exhibitions of the participants' works in several cities and towns in Russia (Suzdal, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Pskov, etc.).

  7. Participants should send in one photo of themselves for a booklet, which is planned to be published after the pleinair.

  8. Working languages: Russian, English.

Cost of participation: 540$

Cost of participation includes:

  • accommodation in Moscow (Hotel***, 2 nights + half board);
  • acommodation in Suzdal (Hotel***, 7 nights + full board);
  • transfer (Moscow-Suzdal-Moscow);
  • cultural program;
  • master classes (batik and Russian arts and crafts);
  • lectures on Russian art.
